Idie Badie, owner and founder, received her first licensed certificate in dog-grooming in 2009. Since that time she has worked non-stop in the pet care industry, from salons to boarding kennels until starting Gentle Touch Dog Grooming in July 2011.
Idie became interested in grooming after adopting her maltese, Sophi, from Lost Dog & Cat Rescue. She just could not imagine leaving her precious (and scared) little Sophi with just anyone, so she decided to learn to groom Sophi herself. Idie realized that with a "gentle touch" her Sophi and most other dogs she has groomed, respond very well to the process.
Idie attended the Virginia School of Pet Grooming and received her certification. Gentle Touch Dog Grooming is a member of the National Association of Dog Groomers, is licensed and insured.
My Inspiration, my Sophi!
Gentle Touch volunteers with Lost Dog & Cat Rescue by grooming newly acquired dogs to prepare them for adoption events. One such case, Doogie, was adopted the week after his first grooming at Gentle Touch. We are so happy that Doogie, now named Barney, has found a forever home.
